Excuse me sir, can I get through?
You have a good day!
How are you doing, ma'am and sir?
Excuse me, ma'am, can I get through?
Do you want a little cart?
My name's Carl Mundt.
And I've worked at Giant for seven years.
I bag and do carts, mostly.
I'm here six hours a day, 30 hours a week.
I like working here because I like interacting with people.
What are your names?
I want to know what your names are.
Youre a nice lady, Donna.
Just wanted to tell you.
Do you want the bags light or heavy?
It doesn't matter.
I always like to ask.
I like saying hi to all the customers.
Everybody.
Have a good day, ma'am.
Have a good day, sir.
Thank you for letting me through, I appreciate it.
Thank you, whoever you are.
My loud voice projects.
I can say hi to people across the parking lot.
Have a good day, sir, and you too, ma'am!
I've gotten to know some of the regular shoppers.
You have a good day, Larry.
Hey, Isabel.
How you doing?
Nice to see you.
How you doing, ladies?
Hi Carl.
How are you?
Good.
You ladies have a good day.
People really remember me.
I make shopping a much more pleasant experience.
I've been a customer here since they opened and have enjoyed coming and seeing Carl over the years.
He brings so much joy to my day.
There will be some days where I'm having a tough day at work, and I will just do my lunch hour at Giant so that I can come and get a high five.
Everyone needs a Carl in their life.
There's a Facebook page for fans of Carl.
My Facebook page is called We Love Carl at South Atherton Giant.
It's just an appreciation page and people share stories of how incredible Carl is and how good he makes them feel.
They say I'm a good worker and I do a good job.
I love seeing everyone else celebrate him and enjoy their interactions with him as much as I do.
Yeah, it definitely feels like I'm a celebrity.
Thank you sir.
Have a good day now.
I will see you later, sir.
It's important to make people happy just because I like all the people that come in and everybody's nice back.
When somebody smiles at me, it makes me feel good.
Thank you sir.
Have a good rest of the day now.
You have a good day, ma'am.
You have a good weekend as well, coming up.
See you next time.
Whenever that will be.
